Best hotel in US
This hotel is truly outstanding and rates a 10!. Great product and service. Attentive and welltrained staff. The housekeeping staff noticed I had a CPAP machine on the nightstand and discreetly placed a bottle of specially bottled distilled CPAP water on the nightstand for the nights use. Also, we were early for our rooms and staff kept our luggage and then texted us when our rooms were ready and had our bags waiting in the room. Food in the restaurants was also of the highest quality and we had an excellent dinner with great service at the Shanghai Terrace. Everyone was attentive and courteous. the room had multiple computer and phone chargers and the I-Pads which controlled HVAC, lighting, TV, and music was intuitive and easy to use. Really outstanding hotel and one of the best in the US.

Customer service needs training
My name is Andrius Simulis, my wife and I stayed in room 813 from 7/26-7/28. With your hotel being rated 5 stars, we were quite dissatisfied with your customer service and employee manners. We arrived Friday evening and had to come twice to have our cards activated from the 8th floor to the lobby. Upon entering the room, there was no water, so we had to get room service, just for water. Which costs quite a bit. Saturday I had a meeting, and I needed to iron my shirt and pants. No iron or ironing board was present at the room. I travel a lot for work and wouldn't even expect such an inconvenience. I had to call customer service and have it delivered, which made me late for my meeting, left me looking very unprofessional. Saturday evening, we came back, went to bed and couldn't sleep because a dog in the next room was barking uncontrollably throughout the night. Paying $500+ per night, i would not expect to have to listen to dogs when I'm in bed and have meetings all Sunday. Upon check out, i explained the whole story to the receptionist. She did not even apologize and explained that i should call the 24/7 operator. She asked what do you want me to do? Her response was 50% off parking. I mean, spending many nights in different hotels, this was the first instance it ever happened. That is very rude and very poor customer service. I would like to see her sit in meetings after a sleepless night She said that she will talk with security to watch for dogs.

Wow. The best hotel in Chicago! We have stayed at all of the 5 star properties in Chicago and Peninsula is now our favorite. The service is excellent, but the location, room setup, and overall amenities make the difference. Great job to the Peninsula Chicago team!
