Poor Quality would never stay again
Very dated decor, springs sticking out of bed , wallpaper hanging off wall, carpets not fitted, bathroom a disgrace. Would never stay again, the pictures on the website are telling lies

Low cost accommodation close to city centre
This was my 4th stay at Devonshire House Hotel in the last 12 months, and my choice to continue staying there is entirely based on the low cost, free parking, and close proximity to the city centre by road and foot. The quality of the rooms is very hit and miss, the room this time was more of a miss, though I can see that they have done work on the place in the last 12 months to improve the general appearance internally. It is what it is, and that is a no frills bed for the night at a very reasonable price, close to the city centre. If you are seeking luxury, this is not it - pay more, and stay in the city centre.

Room 207 was clean and comfortable and had a lawn view. Wall lights switch was behind headboard of bed - not good - little battered lamp as substitute! Food in the evening was good quality and quantity. The staff were very friendly. Not too far from Liverpool centre. The Wedding venue looked beautiul. We have stayed before and would stay again.

Value if booked with discount
Nice reasonably sized room, with excellent tea/coffee and toiletries. The hotel does come across as being in need of an upgrade and refurbishment, but for me was just fine, could do with black out curtains as the roller blinds let a lot of light in, but the hotel itself is situated in a quiet area, although that may just have been me lucky with the room I was give (156). Minor gripe for some may be that the TV was on an angle when extended so you could watch in bed, but did not spoil watching for me. Breakfast was both a pleasure and disappointment, bacon beautiful, sausages and peeled plum tomato's very poor, for just a bit extra could have had a half decent sausage, and ASDA chosen by you tinned tom's which are good, instead of a sausage that obviously came from a bag of 50 discount cheepys, and the tomato's had half their skins still on, otherwise it was a good breakfast with plenty of cereal to chose from and good OJ.
