    Impressive food, but....
Finally got there over Christmas weekend and customer service was over the top...amazing! Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. It’s VERY EXPENSIVE! Upon check in, you get a wristband, like what you’d get at an “all inclusive” resort. Nothing at Deerhurst is inclusive. Meals, snacks, activities, bag of ice...$$$$$! Yes they charge you for ice...seriously! This has nothing to do with’s always been like that (except for machines closed). Our room in the Bayshore building was basic no frills. Not even a proper mini fridge. It was a tiny 2’x2’x2’ box. Great view of the lake...sliding door, no balcony. For $200/nt, you’d expect a little more.

Let me start by saying we had a good time during our stay, we made the best of it and would still consider it again even though our conditions weren't the greatest. Most of the amenities were closed, and apparently you need to call days before check in to make a reservation for the pool, that left us very dissapointed. The first room we checked into looked clean, but the fridge smelt like something had died in it, which left me to question if it had been cleaned at all. It also made me question the rest of the cleaning throughout the hotel. They were helpful and moved us immediately which was nice. The new room we got was very dated. All the doors barely shut, and needed to be deadbolted to keep them shut. The TV guide was all messed up and most the channels were glitching and on loop. The phone in the main room didn't work at all. I spent 30 minutes trying to get the restaurant and guest services only to realize that it didn't work (it kept ringing fast busy) I was then informed by guest services that the menu needed to be updated because you couldn't call from your room and needed to use a cell. Our freezer was frozen over so we could barely fit anything in it, which was upsetting since we were there for my son's birthday and paid for an ice cream cake which then we had to dispose of because we couldn't freeze it. I have stayed here many times before, and never had a stay like this last one. The check in process was incredible and very safe but after that it was meh

I really enjoyed all of it, what really caught are eye was the light trail. And we also really enjoyed the hiking trails, we will definitely be coming back.

Room was not as depicted in pics. Dated sofa, stains on towels, carpet and chairs. Pillows were haaardd and we woke up with neck pain. Service was good. Food was OK. Pool was pleasant. It was decent overall but I don't think we would be inclined to return any time soon!

    COVID + Winter Time Review
Quality of suite and resort was very good overall. Weather was not on our side and we went during COVID time as well. So we were unable to benefit from most of the resort activities including things like golf course. Spa was open and that was an excellent experience. I see the potential and will likely return post pandemic and during non-winter seasons. I can set that being very different and fun

Good except our phone did not work and the parking lot was very dark at night

We got a upgrade to a two bedroom condo, which was very nice.

Internet and cable out of service. No tea in room. No ice machine, understandable due to COVID but ice for purchase instead is profiteering. Meals at restaurant excellent.
