6/10 Good

Very Basic
Tired looking decor and a nasty stain the size of a dinner plate on the carpet in my room. My window looked out onto a brick wall that blocked natural light into my room. I asked for the use of desk lamp which never showed up, No one bothered to let me know as to why. No air con, but that seems to be generally the case with these old converted hotel buildings. Door slamming an issue at night. Okay experience.

2/10 Poor

So old, so tired, so hot, so uncomfortable
Hotel is genuinely awful. But it’s cheap and handy for work. Thankfully I’m only here for a few hours at a time so it does the job. Everything about it is 25 years out of date, wouldn’t consider staying head for pleasure. Staff friendly enough

4/10 Fair

We thought staying on the harbour would be a perfect place to stay. But it was very noisy. Constant noise from the traffic people talking and shouting by the harbour and music coming from the pubs. Didn’t sleep all night. The room was so hot but couldn’t have the windows open as the noise would have been worse. Was booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1 night. Our rooms facilities weren’t very good either, the flush didn’t working properly. The taps dripped and the shower didn’t drain well which caused the water to spill out over the shower tray.

Good Location
Often stayed here due to excellent location. Hotel is pleasant enough but could do with updating. However this time paid extra for 'double with view' to be given a cramped 4th floor room with a view of trees. Reception advised I paid extra for a 'front' room not a view as advertised. Previous rooms were cheaper and better, so save your money.

8/10 Very good

Torbay hotel torquay
When arrived at the torbay Hotel torquay on Monday 27th June the lift was out of order, we were on the 4th floor which were 100 stairs to our room, the lift didn't get fixed until the Thursday. We had know one service our room until Thursday. Room very tired. On a brighter note reception, bar and night staff were lovely. Great location. It would have nice to be told prior to our visit that the lift was out of order and had been for a few months, and maybe offered a reduction in the price of the room.
