After being in 2 other properties during previous trips to the Dominican Republic, the Riu Palace Macao definitely was very underwhelming. If you want good food and decent drinks then this is your place, but if you value literally anything else - there are definitely better resorts to stay at in the DR. We had nothing to do past 11pm (if you're a nightowl) and the Riu had very unfriendly waiters and one even confronted me for trying to give an honest review of their performances. Hilda and Idaurys were magnificent as part of the entertainment staff and they were probably the best part of this trip. They are saying that Macao will undergo renovations in April, lets's hope they renovate some of the staff as well.
