Almost everything about the Spencer is good, location, friendly staff, spacious and comfortable room. However, breakfast the next morning was a big disappointment. Despite being up early for breakfast at a quiet time, everything in the dining room was dis organised and unprepared; some food choices unavailable, lack of plates and bowls, poor menu choice, etc. After opting to pay extra to have breakfast included, I was sorry that I had done so. I would happily return to the Spencer, but on a room-only basis.

nice hotel
This was my second time staying in this hotel. The hotel rooms are nicely decorated with a relaxed and comfortable atmoshere. There are nice leisure facilities and an indoor pool. The things that leave this hotel down are the quality of reception staff and the breakfast. On my first stay i complained about the breakfast and sent an email to the manager. Our second stay the breakfast was also very poor. It is a buffet and all the hot food was cold. This is totally unacceptable but the hotel dont seem to care really. When we checked in for our first stay i had booked a room with a balcony. There was no balcony when we got to our room and when i rang reception i was told not all rooms have balconies. I know this and thats why i specifically booked a more expensive balcony room.Overall i would book a different hotel in the area if were to stay in dublin again

Great Hotel
Had an amazing time in Dublin. Spencer Hotel was great. The lady at the front desk was amazing. Staff was fantastic, we got in late and wanted to eat and the restaurant had just closed. The lady at the bar asked if the chefs would whip something up for us and they made us an amazing dish. The room had two single beds for the children and a queen for me and my wife. Everything was perfect. The lobby is connected to a cool bar and lounge area where we enjoyed some delicious cocktails and enjoyed the ambiance. All in all a great trip and I would definitely stay there again.

Debit card booking great, paying no no no no no
Booked my stay online,no problems with my debit card to be used. Arrived on site to be told I can pay then or in the morning, I choose the morning option, to then be told debit card was no use, credit card only, so I opted for cash,to be told then an extra €50 deposit on top of room payment would be needed,so instead of 185 I had to fork over 235 with no prior warning while booking or in the days leading up to it. I found this highly inconvenient, and to say my night out wad less fun with 50 less for dinner and few drinks in understated.. Very disappointed.
