The Westin St. Louis

Luxury marred by construction
The room was luxurious and stepping into the bathroom was like stepping into a spa! My only disappointment was parking. There is construction on the road in front of the hotel and made an already late night even longer driving and driving to find parking and then a lengthy walk to check in. I guess I know why we got such a good deal for our room!

Housekeeping clearly came in to the room and put in clean towels, but didn't make the bed and left a mess. There were food trays left in the hallways for two days. Not what I expect from a Westin! (Or a Motel 6 for that matter.)

Quiet & comfortable couple's getaway
Facilities were very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing with the soaking tub and the big shower.

Horrible service and no WiFi, but great bed.
There were a few points of contention but also some good. First, the bed was HEAVENLY!!! I had a hard time leaving it to be honest. The shower was also amazing. Aside from that, the room was a little damp and musty, with very weird furnishings. Every other hotel of this price has free WiFi and complimentary bottled water, but not the Westin! WiFi was $16 per 24 hour period!!! The location was convenient, but the lobby was awful. This place needs a major renovation to compete. Lastly, the front desk staff on the night of November 2nd late night around 11:30 PM, two guys, need to be fired. We stood there while they talked and carried on about why each of them thought the other should check us in for about 10 minutes. If I hadn’t already paid, I would have walked out right then and there. I’ve NEVER had such a horrible experience. The woman working Sunday November 4th around 11am for checkout was great though.

Needs Updating
This hotel is one of the nicer in St. Louis, near downtown. However, it needs a lot of work. The carpet is stained, the floors are gross and the elevators, common areas are dirty. For a Starwood property I would expect more.
