Avoid this property
Shabby rooms, outdated. Cracked sink, broken switch plates, dirty hallway carpeting, stained. No buckets at ice station. Elevators painfully slow. It was the topic of conversation Among everyone in the elevators. Lobby is really nice and interesting but aside from that It was so in need of updates, repairs. No ceiling tiles in a portion of the hallway near my room. Ripped curtain on wall in my room, etc

Hotel with a 'Boutique' feel to it...
Close to Central Park and the Columbus Circle subway station the location is very convenient. The hotel has a boutique feel to it with an impressive lobby, 'Living Room' and bar. Although considering its sister hotel is the Mondriaan in LA it sadly lacks in refinement and exclusivity. The hotel and its rooms could do with a refurb but overall I had a good stay.

Very much overrated !
The hotel is overrated. Small bedroom with noisy air conditioning. The bathroom was trendy but not practical with only a sink and no place to put one's toiletry. Moreover, there was no air extraction system in the bathroom (to remove steam and odours). No direct light in the bedroom only on each nightstand. At night it was too dark to see anything. Terrace with garden being renovated so not possible to use it. All in all a double room at 360 USD per night (without breakfast) for this kind of room, is very much overrated.

Aircondition virkede ikke på det første værelse vi fik, da vi låste døren op da vi ankom meldte den rødt. Så vi havde en tanke om de godt vidste den var gal. New York med 37 grader og uden aircondition er forfærdeligt. Nyt værelse med aircondition der virker. Værelserne er meget små, sengene har gjort deres værnepligt. Der er utrolig meget støj fra aircondition da de sidder udenfor et vindue der ikke lukker tæt på nogen måde. Generelt MEGET støj. Beliggenhed er hvad der er total i top på dette hotel. Vi valgte det faktisk grundet det. Men 5 dage med så meget støj når der bruges meget energi i løbet af dagen er no go fra vores side.

Hot July week in NYC
This was a part of my small tour of the US. It was my third time in New York and so the city felt quite familiar. But the hotel was new to me. I really appreciated that a late check inn was available (I checked inn after midnight). There were some hiccups on the first morning but the hotel catered to them efficiently and I got a new room. Be ready for the extra small rooms! The neighbourhood around the hotel is nice and felt safe. Central Park is right around the corner too! A nice hotel all in all.

Poor service, slow elevators
The elevators are very slow and it takes too long to get up and down. I had a problem and the hotel staff was very rude. Even if management made up for it, I would not suggest staying at this hotel. The air conditioning is like sleeping in a room with a truck revving its engine.

From the very beginning check in was extremely slow. They were very understaffed and it look over 20 minutes for me to get to my room. When i got to my room i was disgusted to find blood stains on the sheets and towels. I don't believe the linen was actually changed from the last person staying, rather the bed was just made. After my long day of traveling i finally fell asleep. At 1am there was a call to the room. I woke up slightly panicky, assuming it must be an emergency because someone was calling me on the hotel phone so late. NO they were just checking to see if the room was available. The dim witted staff continued to have their conversation while calling, saying that they would just have to try a few more rooms. Next wake up call was the loud banging of water running through hot water pipes 3:30am which persisted at least 40 minutes. After the third day of being woken up by this noise i asked for a room change. They told me it was the same in every room and that was just what it was like in NY. What they didn't know is that i am originally from NY and although you will hear this noise throughout the city it is mainly in uncared for or poorly maintained properties and not to be expected in hotels. DO NOT STAY HERE it is not worth it, even though the convenient location next to the park and metro.
