Nice hotel. Older but in very good condition. Hotel was kept too cold for our comfort, does not have heat in the rooms- only AC. Very underutilized with COVID. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Service was less efficient than normal, but they were running with a skeleton crew due to the low occupancy.
Great location and history. In need of refreshing and purpose.
Some of the features / aspects of the room were pretty dated. Some black spots in places in the shower. Starbucks onsite was great and the outside bar was great.
The staff was very personable and pleasant. The beach and view of the water was excellent. It was very relaxing and comfortable.
I didn't like the swimming pool schedule -9 to 5- leave that for an office, but not for a hotel. THey only gave a couple of bottle of water at the check in, and none afterwards
Long wait for room. Used towels left in bathroom. Can be very noisy on street side and loud bar next door on water side. We only stayed one night before next destination to Exuma. I would not rush back here.
Good location for walking downtown but hotel is tired and staff are not friendly. Front desk was good because our room wasn’t ready til 10:30 at night! Received a credit for tourist tax, late check out and meal voucher because of our room not being ready. Wouldn’t stay here again though. Same Bartender was rude at lobby bar and pool bar on two different days. Just didn’t care about asking for your order at all.
I didn’t like the room and their food is too expensive particularly breakfast
Loved the hotel's history and the general vintage / elegant vibe. Rooms are well appointed but on the small side, and my room begged for an armchair (city view queen room). Bathrooms are large (almost as large as the room itself) and clean. I hope there will be an effort to pay attention to the details in the hotel's maintainance. For instance, the ceilings in the halls are suspended (not a great look) and stained and so are the carpets. The window in the door to the second floor rooms was cracked and had a blue masking tape over it the whole time we were there. Made me want to go out and get a clear tape at least. It's those details that if taken care of would make this hotel a 5 star. The grounds are well kept. Only one restaurant/lounge, the Buillion, and while nicely decorated, food was not the greatest. Acqua is only opened for breakfast. Other peeves were the noise from construction on the condo next door, but that will be over eventually, and the cruise ships and other transport ships sailing a bit too close to the beach. Made me wonder about the water quality for swimming. But, overall I liked the hotel and would probably go back.
Room needs a refresh. Shower door didn't seal when closed. Many overhead puck lights missing covers. Tiny bugs on counters and night stands. Railings on stairs to the beach need repaired along with broken electrical conduit near foot wash. Sun beds don't have cranks to raise or lower tops.
