The registration lady had no smile on her face when I checked in. Check-out waiting time was too long. Otherwise, it was great.

Loved it
Epic and over the top hotel. From the valet parking, the imposing castle overhead, swimming pools, spa, multiple restaurants... it is totally over the top. Great place to propose, great place for a big anniversary, not for the faint of pocketbook.

Very Good8.0
The bar on the mezzanine level was amazing. Food and Drinks perfect. The steak restaurant 1880 was so underwhelming it bordered on horrible. The room service food was also awful. Beautiful room. The room was not ready but the staff put me in a temporary room which was kind but became work because I had to move twice and couldn't really relax.

You get what you pay for
Amazing views, amazing service, amazing historical hotel, but that's what you pay for (very high prices). Only complaint is that you need to drive down the mountain a little to get to Banff town center, so this might be a hassle if you prefer the hustle and bustle (just personal preference here). Overall very memorable stay, and the outdoor hot pool is so much fun when it's snowing outside.
