Very Good 8.0
The trip was great . We met friend for a pre-wedding party. we were happy with the room, but the bed was not so comfortable and the pillows too hard. Service was great and the people very friendly.

Enjoyable business trip
I had a very nice stay here. The only thing I would suggest is to tell people not to slam the door. My neighbors had a habit of this. It's a great location in DuPont Circle and the staff were very friendly. I will come here again.

A shame what it has become...
When this hotel was the Ritz Carlton, it was fabulous. Now The Fairfax has a new owner, which "modernized" the main floor/reception/restaurant area. Gone is the charm. Its just like any other hotel now in that regard. I also had an issue as the heat did not work in my room (it blew out cold air in the middle of winter). They did change my room, but only after I spent the night in the cold (in fairness, I didn't ask them to change it until after the first night, because I "thought" the heat would eventually kick in), Also, they added in a $25/day "fee" that wasn't at all referenced when I made my reservation on Expedia. I objected but they said that's the way it is. All that to say that I had a disappointing stay...

Perfect Location ‘Twixt Downtown and Georgetown
The Fairfax is perfectly located if you want easy travel to both downtown and Georgetown, and it is also a great walking neighborhood, steps from The Phillips Collection art museum. The staff is very nice. Lobby is modern but hallways and rooms are traditional and attractive. My only complaint was there was a reading lamp on one side of the king bed. Many dining choices on Connecticut Ave. and P Street.
