Our partial ocean view was as minimal ocean possible. There was construction going on right next to us and we could smell it. The rooms definitely needed some work but for the price we paid we shouldn’t have to smell it. The pool is amazing the restaurants had great food. Plenty of chairs for relaxing. Beautiful outside of our room.
We loved our stay here! The property really can only be described as Grand. It has beautiful gardens and an open feel. Everything is beautifully manicured and everyone was so helpful. I’d gotten hurt on our trip and broke my foot and the staff was so accommodating, either wheeling me in a wheelchair or taking me in a golf cart to restaurants. It was very appreciated and still allowed us to enjoy our trip on what would have otherwise limited us!
Pool was fantastic and so was the beach. I love the open air layout of the place. Our bell boy Ryan was a master at his craft. Most all the other staff was a little on edge and I felt like they didn’t want to be helpful. It was kind of weird that multiple staff weren’t accommodating - like keeping an umbrella up because I was using it, or appearing like I was interrupting something if I had a question. Water isn’t out out till 10 am in the lobby. I left feeling that it was not 5 stars. The room itself had a killer bathroom and view, but if you crop the picture to just the room, it looks like a Motel 8.
Our second visit and it was just incredible. Lovely location and wonderful service!! The very best!!
Everybody at the resort was helpful, friendly and wanted to make sure their guests were as comfortable as possible!
Love the grand but Hawaiian feel of this hotel—the statues, fountains, tiki torches and palapas. (Many hotels have modern renovations that feel bland.) The room was spacious and the beds and pillows very comfortable. The shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel wonderful. The pools and water slides are super fun, even for adults. My son liked the rope swing too. The water elevator is a little overrated. Cool that it is the only one in the world but not a very exciting ride. The beach is very nice here and has chairs and umbrellas to use at no charge. Definitely plan to come back!
Beautiful acceomodations...surprised for the caliber of hotel that first thing we saw in the room were 2 bottles of water with a note that says in a one week stay that after the 2 bottles there will be a charge more additional water...seriously. We paid a fortune to stay here and they have to nickel and dime us for water.Expected it to be expensive but was surprised at how pricey everything was at this hotel. Dont get me wrong it's beautiful but be ready to spend a lot here.
The staff was outstanding, friendly, helpful and dedicated to cleanliness
Pool and KUKU servers were uninterested in taking care of us. They consistently forgot orders. I was told by one server I would be better off going to the bar to order due to his shift about to be ending. Bar service, front desk, and concierge service were all top notch. Conditions of walkways though out the property were poor missing grout and paver stones. One of the hot tubs did not work throughout our entire stay. 10 days. Overall the exterior of the property conditions were poor and the photos online neglected to show any of this. You also did not disclose that your premier restaurant was closed. we Had a great trip but were greatly disappointed in the property conditions and service
Dear Sir/Madame- I very much like the property and have been there three of the last three years with my family. It’s beautifully run. My very, very big disappointment came when I got food poisoning that lead to diarrhea/nausea, chills and fever within an hour after leaving the property’s Luau. I was sick the rest of the night, 1/2 the following day (before forcing myself to leave the bed/room and had to cancel plans later that next evening. Upon realizing how a large portion of my trip was ruined I decided to ask for a refund for only my portion of the luau. Truth be told getting poisoned ruined some of my wife’s stay as well as my daughter’s but I felt it only fair to request my fee be taken off the bill upon checkout. After politely asking for something I didn't really consider would be met with anything but apologies and agreement, the person at the front desk told me that the front desk manager Kelsey Lions would only offer me $50 off of the $135 I was charged. I politely declined. To be clear- I have stayed there under the name Ethan or Skip Erickson three of the last three years, I also signed up for the Elite program this last stay so as to accrue points and have raved to others about the property and staff. I find it incredible that your property would lose my and my friends’ business over a charge of $135. I found the $50 offer incredibly cheap and in very poor taste hence my refusal to accept it & I am still bitter about it. Please let me know your thoughts.
