Very Good 8.0
Hotel itself was outstanding, fantastic décor, very nicely done. Service staff in restaurant were of the poorest quality I have ever encountered. Smart alecky, lazy, hungover had to be asked numerous times for the same thing. Incorrect bill and when they were questioned over it retorted with "Well that's saved you the price of a pint!" Will never dine there again, the really let down the quality of the hotel which is very disappointing.

Poor 2.0
Noisy room cleaning at 8 am on a Sunday morning
On original check in we had been sighed at and given incorrect information on where our room was located. We were woken by group of people spanning 5 hotel rooms at 6.30 am. At 8am the noise finally stopped to be replaced by cleaning of all those rooms. Finally contacted reception at 10 am who on relating that we could not sleep since 6.30 and that cleaning had begun at 8 informed us that we should have asked for a quiet room. I explained that I understood that it was a city centre hotel, so noise at night and from other guests was expected, but room cleaning of every room around us at 8 am on a Sunday morning was a bit inappropriate. Reception offered us late checkout or complementary coffee and advised us that if we had contacted them the night before we could have changed rooms, despite there being no issue with the night before. 20 minutes after the phonecall the cleaning staff knocked at our door to clean our room. Despite their undertaking to contact the cleaning staff no contact had been made. We gave up and left as we could not sleep due to the level of noise. On checkout the receptionist was unaware of our calling and when I again explained, she alluded that it was the cleaning staffs fault. I found the cleaning staff very polite and efficient, they had been unaware there was an occupied room on the floor. All in all a very unsatisfactory experience which could have been easily remedied and which we gave the hotel numerous opportunities to remedy.
