There are better hotels. Many better hotels.
Great location in Temple Bar, near Dame Street. The joy ends there. I’ve seen more charming college dorm rooms. Blooms is my 6th Dublin hotel in three years and by far the most grim and depressing. The hallway lighting is like a bad horror flick. The rooms are small (at least mine was), the bed was uncomfortable, and the shower of a different era. I’m not an untraveled American. I live mainly in Mexico and Paris. I go to Dublin twice a summer. Blooms? Not in my future plans.

Everything was great the the stay, with the exception of the fact that we had no towels in our room. Requested towels around 11p when we returned from our day, and didn’t receive them until 2a. Also our “full” mattress was two twins pushed together.

Prepare to be shocked :)
The hotel itself is fine for what it is and where it is. The requirement to give a deposit is an annoyance especially when it can take days to clear your card afterwards. This time however I was shocked (literally) when I requested an iron. When I went to use it I discovered it was damaged with live elements exposed (see photos). When I reported that I had been shocked it seemed to be lost on the staff who advised that they would let maintenance know. I won't let that stop me using the hotel again but be vigilant.

Bring earplugs
Front desk was very friendly and helpful.I was meant to pay at the hotel but they charged two days beforehand which is not what I agreed to on this website plus they take a deposit of 50 euro which I have never had to pay before, looks they have had not so "good guests" in the past. There is one thing you must have if you stay here and that's earplugs, lucky I never leave home without them. You might as well have no windows because you hear everything outside from drug addicts to drunks to deliveries in the morning. If you like a cold room don't turn on the rad you won't be able to turn it off. By the way you have to power on the TV as source not on the remote. The shower was weak no aircon so if you are form the USA it will not be for you. Otherwise the room was clean and it right in the city centre you can get the 747 bus around the coroner to the airport.
