6/10 Good

We arrived around 5, got into the room and realized it was probably the wrong room, not the superior king. The front desk was not very nice or helpful. She just said we were in the correct room repeatedly instead of telling us the difference, something you might do with your first time guests, evidently not here though. We come to find out that the room was very tiny, the AC was good, good shower, great martinis and wonderful location. My wife was so unimpressed by the front desk she didn’t even bother to ask about our broken remote for our room so we could sit after a long day of walking museums in front of a Sox game. I’d give it a 3.5/5. The room also said in the description it would have run access. The entire reason I got the room was to give a bath to my baby. After 5 days in Chicago she was a hot stinky mess. We ended up trying to hold her while we were showering on the ground. The very least the check in process could’ve gone through a few things. She did nothing of the sort, just had me sign and go about my day. For the price I payed I thought I’d have a few more things, like a tub….and a working tv remote

2/10 Poor

Filthy rooms with no recourse.
The sheets were covered in long black hairs, there were several other issues with cleanliness such as peeling caulk in the shower, possible mold, peeling paint, stained carpets, very gross. I asked to be switched to another room & it was no better, minus the hair. I asked Hotels.com for a refund or credit as it is 3am & I would love to sleep but possibly in a nearby hotel that was not as dirty. I was told it was up to the Hotel & they denied the refund. I heard a maid loudly in the hall saying she was bleeding in a room & made a mess, I recorded her talking, also not reassuring. My staycation was ruined, I should have just stayed at home, at least my house is clean.

Great room
Overall I was very pleased. I had to run my Cap1 CC instead of the desk clerk being aware of the reservation and it being charged to my Hotels.com account. Also he provided a room number that didn't exist initially causing us to return to desk for clarification. Also, the coffee shop is somewhat overpriced even for that area of Chicago.
