I know it was not too expensive, the hotel is very dated, has a musty smell and room was basic as expected, but mattress was not comfy, the room next door, you could hear them talk and the shower was an absolute nightmare to use

Central position but badly in need of renovation.
First impression is that the hotel is far worse than its ratings suggest. It was difficult to find through a back door which the taxi driver had difficulty to spot. It was very inaccessible as we had to carry large pieces of luggage up a staircase to the reception. The rooms and interior are badly in need of renovation. The shower was not working in one of the two rooms and despite mentioning it at the reception, it was never fixed before we left. On the positive side, the staff were very polite (except for not fixing the shower) and the cleaning ladies were very good. The position is central and therefore very convenient.

Lovely room, friendly staff, great location
Room was great - well appointed and spacious- nicer than expected! Corridors and shared spaces are tired but, hey, that's fine at this price-point. Check-in/out was friendly and trouble free. Would definitely recommend for a single night/weekend stop over in Central Manchester - it's in a great location. Didn't eat in so can't comment on the food. Overall very happy! Many thanks.

Average
Basic hotel not quite as clean as more modern ones but perfectly good for exploring central Manchester. Ideally located and staff are friendly and helpful. It was exceptionally warm when I stayed here and the room only had a small window for ventilation so it was a little uncomfortable overnight, especially with the window open I could hear the air conditioner for another premises right outside the window. So not great but did the job.

Good hotel
Lovely hotel, easy to get to from train stations if your ok with a little walk, and a good location for shops/food. Only downside was the lack of air con but I was aware of this before booking. Thankfully a fan was provided as we travelled in the September’23 heatwave but no plug socket close enough to the bed for it to have much effect while sleeping. Bathroom was absolutely lovely, really nice sized shower. Lovely robes for guests to use with the option of buying if you really liked them. Bed was really comfortable too, I usually find hotel mattresses too hard but this one was nice
