Dodgy area of town with a lot of homeless people...ask where the safer streets are to walk. 20 minute walk to union sq.

Be travel wise when staying here.
The interior is actually pretty clean on first appearance and the bed was comfortable. At least until I got bit by a bed bug and found another in the head board. I immediately complained and got moved to another room. As gross as it was, it did not look like an infestation because I only found 2. I must have just been lucky. In the new room I stripped the bed and looked all over and didn't find anything. Still felt like creepy crawlies were all over me during the night but I didn't get anymore bites. The management apologized and said they get a check every month and bugs were not reported. The surrounding area is abysmal. It was really loud at night. I would wake up a few times just to make sure there wasn't someone actually in my room. I also kept a chair against the door for added protection. There was good coffee in the room and the shower had good pressure. I didn't stay long. I would only recommend this place if you are traveling on a budget and you are not easily frightened by homelessness, drugs, and fighting going on around you while you sleep. It is unfortunate to say, but this was probably the best you can expect in the price range for San Francisco.

The room was fine, big enough and the bed was comfortable. The location was not friendly, and was also distanced from main SF interesting areas for visitors. The staff was not friendly as well, seems that even basic service elements were not I place, such as- assisting with suitcases for 2 women when there is no elevator, short and laconic answers regarding issues with facilities etc. They wouldn’t go the extra mile to satisfy the guests. There are safes and phones in the rooms, however they are not in use.

Beware of Credit Card hold. You get it back
I have stayed at this property for years. Its in the Tenderloin area of SF. Its not necessarily a dangerous neighborhood. But you will see open Heroin use. People with mental health issues. And public defecation. But with all that said. If you can get this place for under $140.00. Its a nice clean place with free parking. The parking is limited , So don't show up at 10 pm with a Escalade and expect to find a large spot left. The prices of SF hotels change rapidly. weekends, summertime and special events, drive prices out of reach for some people. This hotel can be $106 to $380.00. If things are beyond your reach. Think about Oakland or East Bay towns and take BART into the City everyday. The biggest problem i have with this property is that they do a $250 hold on your credit card. It stats this in the fine print. But im betting many people miss this. They take your ID and CC card and then have you sign a form that you owe "0" They dont tell you that they just ran your card for $250.00. I know this going in so i dont care. But i feel bad for anybody that comes to SF with limited funds and they find out they are short $$ on there Debit cards. The money is put back in your account soon after check out. Another thing that probably can happen here. One time i got a great a deal on this place, Booked 9 month's ahead of time. And the manager tried to "Upcharge" me to the current rate. Probably double. I did not except that and he backed down. With all that i will stay again....

The hotel was near the Venue we were seeing. Near delicious food. The room was clean and smelled good. The service was above and beyond expectation. They were very accommodating. We drove 12 hours and got there a bit early and they let us check in. I accidently booked a one bed room instead of two online and they upgraded us to two beds at the desk. Very nice. They have free parking! I would bring your own blow dryer. Read the instructions on the wall for the shower before you get in. They do not have a fridge or microwave. I would stay there again.
