Reality today
All restaurants are closed, room cleaning is not being done, and staffing is minimal. (COVID related) Hotel did offer bag food options and the bar remains open. There are several local restaurants open in the vicinity and recent riot damages are still visible.

Very pleasant stay.
Exceptionally clean. Very open and spacious dining and sitting rooms on the first floor. The room and the bathroom were new and crisp looking.

Poor 2.0
Absolutely Horrendous
Everything about this hotel is awful. The location, the service, the access, the lack of parking, the awful customer service, it's just a weird hotel. Being that I had stayed at a number of W hotels in the past, I thought I'd get a nice room and be able to relax with my family. It was not so. The room was smaller than described. The 'view' was non existent as the windows were not clean and could not see through. The price was very high considering the uncleanliness. It just wasn't a good feeling being there. I would never recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

W DC a lovely spot to be!
Was a very nice stay at the W and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Corona conditions have the rooftop bar and restaurants closed for now but it was still an enjoyable stay with great restaurants across the street. Room clean and comfortable bed but bathroom or lack there of has always been a weak spot in the regular rooms.

Disappointed and will NEVER stay at a W again
I’ve stayed at W Hotels in NYC, and also in South Beach and I have to say I’m left disappointed by my stay at the W Washington. We had just got done driving 5 hours and had to drive around in circles to find the entrance since there were no lit up entrance signs and tried both doors but they were locked. After circling we finally parked on the street and called the hotel to find someone to come out and open the door. It turns out we had to wait for someone to open the door for us EACH TIME we left the building. No key card access which is honestly a hassle and extremely inconvenient. Then I asked the hotel staff where I should park and there was no valet, and nobody would tell me where an acceptable place to park was (not being from DC that was upsetting to be told to read the signs). The signs are vague and had to ask a police officer who was extremely polite and nice. After we got our luggage up to the room, we were starving and I called down to the front desk for room service. We tried 4 times and got answer machine every time. We went to the front desk to find someone playing a game on their phone!! Who then told my friend who was having an medical episode and had to sit down that she needed to move on to a bench “NOW” and would not help her, they were plain rude and demanding. NO 24hr room service, couldn’t tell us where to park, RUDE, and honestly what I expect from a motel 6. Then they tried to double charge me for the $200 deposit. I will never stay at a W.

Good 6.0
Good location, disappointing cleanliness
Nice Hotel in a great location. Hotel was short staffed and the room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. The mirrors were dirty, it was very dusty, there was a Urin stain on the floor under the toilet, hair in the shower, the bed sheets were not made to an acceptable standard and came undone exposing the mattress. I understand that because of the Covid situation they are short staff, but I would expect the cleanliness standards to be higher at this time not lower.

Poor 2.0
This was a horrible experience all around. Especially at check in, after 1.5 hours trying to get past the blockade after driving from NYC with no sleep arriving at 6am to have the front desk person be so incredibly rude to me. No soap in rooms. Thin walls, can hear everything. Overall terrible.

Exceptional 10.0
Omg the staff so helpful !!! Everything was shut down , due to COVID and the protest and the staff helped me with everything I needed. From stores. To food. To rides. The place was so clean I loved it. I will definitely be back

Exceptional 10.0
The property was in the heart of the city and everything was in walking distance as far as food and activities went. The protests and corona virus did limit some things but nothing the hotel could really do about it. That part was clearly out of their control.

This is the worse service and awful customer service I ever had and they are not profit and they don’t care about anything
