absolutely pathetic, and borderline criminal
most hotels these days have free wifi. this one doesn't. after assuring us that the wifi would work on as many devices as we want whenever we want if we just pay 10 euro, we agreed, and it was added to our bill. however, we found that the wifi was dropping out at least once a minute for both of us so we complained and they said they wouldnt make us pay. we continued to use the wifi for a minute here and there, however the connection was pathetic. at checkout, the man at the counter accused us of lieing and cheating because we had used the wifi here and there for minutes at a time. we insisted that we would not pay for a faulty service. however the man continued to shout at us, calling us cheap, and actualy physically LOCKED THE DOOR TO THE HOTEL until we agreed to pay. i gave him 2 euro as a token, but we refused to pay the full amount. he called his friend who stood in front o the door barracading it and wouldnt let us through - he also physically pushed me away at one point. after we threatened to call the police, he said 'just f*** off you cheap f***', and we ran for our lives.

Good location, clean, small shower, unhelpful boss
Hotel was in a good location and was clean. The shower was typically small for Paris (par for the course) but noise and cigarette smells were very low compared to the norm. My only problem was when I came to check out and pay I had an unforeseen issue with my bank as their computer systems had gone down and thus could not make the final payment. As I was on business I asked if I could do a payment over the phone with a business credit card (from a different bank and held by a manager in the office) and the manager/owner decided to become very unhelpful. To say the gentleman (not the usual nice concierge but a man I think must have been the owner/manager) was unhelpful is an understatement. Apparently I was supposed to have known that the bank computers were going to fail before my trip and made other arrangements (Sorry, my crystal ball was also on the blink!) Rather than give options to resolve the issue, he would just say no to everything I suggested. In the end a colleague came from the office to the hotel to use the business card. As a result of this I would not recommend this hotel due to their unhelpfulness to resolve an unforeseen issue and their insistence on the customer to foresee bank systems crashing days in advance.

Ok
The staff were really nice, the room was cleaned everyday. The room was a double but was tiny, we had a lot of luggage with us for work and it barely fit, obviously a single room with two single beds which were smaller than single beds but otherwise it was fine. We didn't stay in the hotel except for sleep.

Safe neighborhood, close to metro
Nice small hotel, easy to find. Very small room, dated furniture, but clean. But who cares, you not there to sit in the room anyways. Close to two metro stops, walking distance to opera house. Noisy restaurant bellow, at 2am loud crowds coming out of the bars, to the point you have to close the windows. Nice small grocery store a cross the street, in the evening a great food to buy just in front of the hotel. Nice staff. I wouldn't bother to purchase the breakfast, the breakfast room was just so so. Yes, small elevator, but big enough for two people with two suitcases, not like what the other people are saying. Comfy beds.
