An amazingly pleasant and professional staff. Next time in DC I will definitely stay there.
To start with, we tried to change the dates on the day before checkin. The hotel refused. Secondly, I tried to cancel the 2nd night of our stay over 48 hours before our stay. The hotel refused. Valet parking was advertised. It didn't exist. Had to pay $54 to park for one night. A restaurant on-site was advertised. It didn't exist. Had to order out. The driver wasn't allowed up to the room. The heating/air conditioning didn't work. It was stifling and humid. The drapes didn't close so neighbors across the way could look into our room. There was only only chair for us to enjoy dinner or breakfast. Attendant was rude in the morning and insisted I put on a mask even though there was a glass window protecting him. But it's DC. What can you expect?
Great visit. Always hav3 a nice time there. Wish had time to use gym area
The bedspread had a stain on it and the wallpaper in the room leading to the bathroom was peeling. They said they upgraded us as a compliment which was thoughtful and the staff seemed pleasant but the rooms are outdated and need some attention
I always look forward to staying at the Churchill. The staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The rooms are lovely and the location is well situated.
Property was different, boutique feel, quaint, creative. It was a nice property. Only thing that bothered me was parking. Street parking wasn't the best, but they did offer parking pass.
nice room
I loved the room given on the 5th floor
The hotel has been renovated and has some lovely, unique features. The rooms are particularly large (King bed hotel room is like a studio or small 1-bedroom apt - minus the kitchen). The room gets great light, the bed was very comfortable, and the linens are super soft. Hotel is quiet and peaceful. In-room amenities are nice: fridge, coffeemaker, bathroom amentiies, etc. However, my room did not have a desk / chair as shown in the pictures and described in the room description. No desk whatsoever. There was a nice armchair by the window and a small end table I used. Since it was a short stay, I did not request a room change. However my room appeared to be completely missing furniture in the area between the bedroom and bathroom. No desk, chair, lamps, etc. Parking is very difficult in Dupont Circle, so don't stay here if you're coming with a car, unless you're prepared to pay $62.10/night incl. taxes to park in a gated lot available behind the hotel. Neighborhood parking requires a permit. You can street park on the weekends, but during the week you can only park for 2 hours at a time. I found a few dead bugs in the hotel room near the bed and window. It's hard to say what they were - could have been a brown beetle or a roach but it was pretty far gone. Recommendation: include water bottles in the room, less bugs, more towels / toilet paper / soap (1 tiny hand soap provided), and include a desk and chair if the room describes that. Overall, spacious, comfy, & pretty.
