Fair
We stayed in Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel 8 years ago and had a marvellous experience. Therefore, when we had the opportunity to stay there again, we were delighted. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. On arriving at our room (801) we swiftly realised that it was extremely noisy, practically on the road. We were still looking around when 2 work men arrived at the door to do something in the room. When they went, I rang reception to see if we could change the room as it would have been impossible to sleep. The receptionist was extremely rude and said there was nothing wrong with the room and they were far to busy to deal with it, we had to pick up our bags again and go out in the rain and across to reception. We were given another room with 2 single beds with no apology for the disruption. The rest of our stay was very nice but it ruined the experience.

Nice
Convenient location to and from the airport. Clean and nice facility.

Nice short city break hotel
Handy location for train to and from the airport and tram to the centre of Vienna. Disappointed that although the ‘Hotels.com’ site description stated tea & coffee maker in room- there wasn’t. Nice to relax in pool & sauna, but thought this facility could be tidier.

Dissapointing
Considering this is a Marriott hotel and we were on the executive floor the hotel was a huge disapointment. Information on the website in terms of hotel amenities is inaccurate. Not all rooms have coffee makers or robes for example. In fact, most do not. There are no irons in the rooms. We called down and asked for 2 wine glasses, we were brought a single pillow. The restaurant menu is extremely limited with no rotation of dishes. The breakfast buffet is incredibly expensive ( worked out to about $55CA each per day ) and not very good quality. Apple juice was so sour it tasted like vinegar. On one day when an omelet was requested the chef cooked the egg completely than threw raw mushrooms on it and served as is. Without cooking the mushrooms. Staff were not well informed about local attractions. The rooms are incredibly hot, even with AC cranked up. There is no beauty salon on site, despite being listed in amenities. There is however a fur salon. There are no concession machines, tuck shops or anywhere to pick up small things you might need. The lobby is beautiful, but the rest of the hotel is fairly dated. The only plus is that it is about a 2 minute walk from the airport Express train, ubahn and sbahn. Very very dissapointing. Not even close to being even on the lower tier of Marriot hotels.
