Had a wonderful time at all-inclusive VARU for a good price. As it is all inclusive, alcohol was available for free plus free transfers taking about 40 minutes by speedboat from the airport.
The buffet restaurant was very good and diverse each day for all three meals. The coffee was mediocre, and sometimes the cocktails were not well mixed, but the staff were very courteous and accommodating. I am giving four stars on staff and service because of the following:
1) they do not offer buggy service for the guests as they say the island is small, but in reality, it is large enough for the service to be offered. The staff, however, are using buggies, and sometimes they do not slow down as guests are walking. While we tried to hug the side of the road, they were certain times where they almost hit us. I reported this to management at the end, and they said they would take action.
2) there is a bar with pool and beach area which is quite nice to be in with the free drinks and certain types of snacks available from 4 to 6 PM. But the live DJ makes the music too loud to the extent that we could hear it in our room until after 10:30 PM. This may not be an issue for some, but we purposely chose the overwater Villa to hear waves — not bass
