Just in outskirts of Abergavenny. Excellent place, super easy to find, no fuss check in and good food. Good value stay. Recommended. Will stay again.

    Convenient location

Convenient location just outside Abergavenny. Handy for hourly buses into both Abergavenny and Brecon. Clean enough apart from the carpet, which had a lot of crumbs, fluff and the occasion bottle top around the edges. Oh, and a two pence piece, so not all bad. The main problem we had was beyond the pub's control. We were woken on the first night by shouts and screams and shrieking in the next room. It took a fair few bangs on the wall to get it to stop. Seemed to be a young woman conducting a loud telephone conversation, possibly with someone in a very different time zone.

  • 6.0.Good

It was OK, the staff were friendlyish but when considering that they were very short staffed and working hard i can work with that and i wish them well. they were well intentioned. the shower needed bleach to clean the black mildew from the corners, the bed was only a double and the large windows opened straight onto the beer garden so not very private. Hot water went by 8.30am but appeared when we complained. Cooked breakfast was nice but the croissants were definitely not fresh, evening meal was nice. Overall not bad - great location and in different times i would expect more for the money.... its 3* after all.

    Good little spot

A very enjoyable stay, with an excellent location to go for walks in the Black Mountains or to go into Abergavenny. Room was a little small, but clean and comfortable (even in the severe heat). Food in the pub was excellent as well and would fully recommend. We would stay again.

    Superb hotel

Everything was excellent. Very central and close to places I wanted to visit. Nice atmosphere. Bar staff were very attentive and courteous. Breakfast was very tasty and well cooked. If going back to Stratford Upon Avon for sure will stay again. Highly recommended
