It was very close to Shinagawa Train Station which was convenient especially having little kids. Staff were accommodating especially the room attendants. There is 7eleven and pharmacy on the ground floor of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing too. There is also a “food court” on the ground floor with great food. Must try curry with omelette.

Room was very small but had everything we needed as all we did was sleep there. Very convenient location (5-minute walk to the JR train station and most of that was just getting out of the building) with lots of good food nearby.

I have been staying in Shinagawa Prince Hotel for like 15 years for business trip. The short walk to Shinagawa station is a must for work as unlike in other countries we travel by car here train ride is the way to move around. The hotel although shows some age the overall CP value is satisfactory.

6/10 Good

Pros - convenient location right next to station and several restaurants Cons - the lobby furniture and carpet were completely filthy and dirty, like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The guest bedroom and hallway outside had an overwhelming stench of old dirty carpet, with visible stains on the carpets throughout the property. Painfully long check-in process after a long day of travel. What on the surface seems like it would be an elegant property is instead just a budget hotel sorely in need of renovation.

The room was a decent size, but we were not able to have all three suitcases open. On one corner in our room the wallpaper was coming off. I think this is due to being hit by suitcase as guest leave the room. Our room was cleaned daily which was a nice perk. They were very efficient. The hotel is huge!! I was a little worried about having to wait a long time for the elevator, but it was not an issue. The laundry room was very busy in the morning. There would be washing machines open, but dryers would be full. It takes a while for laundry to dry. Be aware there is construction happening on the street in front of hotel. Location was very close to Shinagawa Station. Shinagawa Station is very busy all the time.

The Shinagawa Prince Hotel was an outstanding choice for our time in Tokyo. Perfectly located right across the street from Shinagawa Station, the hotel offers incredibly easy access to anywhere you want to go, both in and out of the city. For travelers looking to explore Tokyo and beyond, you simply can't beat this location. The rooms are well appointed and provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. But what truly made our experience memorable was the staff. The customer service here is exceptional and everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed. They even adjusted the dates of our visit without any trouble or additional charges at all, which took a great deal of stress off our plans. Although our Japanese was very limited, the staff spoke English well and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. That kind of warmth and professionalism is rare and deeply appreciated. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great experience in Tokyo.

8/10 Very good

We stayed at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel for almost a week during our trip to Japan and overall had a good experience. The location was excellent—very central, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We rarely had to go far for anything, which made our stay very convenient. The housekeeping staff was outstanding. Our room was always clean, and they were consistently friendly and professional. The only issue with the room was the air conditioning. It never cooled as well as we had hoped, especially in the summer heat. The hotel provided us with a fan on our second night, which helped tremendously. Unfortunately, our last impression was disappointing. While checking out, I was using the luggage scale located next to Guest Services and the luggage carts when an older gentleman working there raised his voice and told me to use the scale outside because this area was busy. After staying here for nearly a week, I found this unnecessary and unwelcoming. There were other guests standing nearby talking and meeting friends, yet I was singled out for simply using the scale where the hotel had placed it. If they don’t want guests weighing luggage there, the scale should be moved to a more appropriate location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel for its location and excellent housekeeping, but I hope guest service during checkout can be improved.

If you want to stay near Shinagawa Station, this is the place but be forewarned, there is a LOT of construction at the station. Also, there are three towers at the Prince complex and it can get confusing getting around. This hotel is big and therefore, very busy. The lobby reminded me of Grand Central Station particularly at checkout time. We had a room with free breakfast and the breakfast buffet (Hapuna) was a mob scene. If you have ever been to Las Vegas during a major conventions, you get what I am talking about. Long line to get in, long lines for coffee and food (though the food was excellent). We stayed in the main tower. This hotel is a factory so you get the benefit of a large hotel in Tokyo, but it can feel impersonal and overly busy. The room was small (normal by Tokyo standards) and on a high floor we had a nice view of Tokyo Tower. It was clean (two twin beds) and the bath was modern. It was the last stay in a three week trip to Japan and this hotel was by far the most congested place we stayed. One other thing, I booked the Prince thinking I could get a direct airport bus to Narita, but they do not stop there. You have to take a taxi to the airport center to get a bus. The hotel shopping is good and fairly priced. There is a 7-Eleven in the hotel that is hard to find.
