Great location, gross carpet, amazing soap
We stayed here for one night in April 2018 on a stopover to Victoria. Location is perfect - easy walk to ferry, restaurants, etc., right on the water, beautiful view. Check-in took for...ev...er... Staff is really friendly, once you get a chance to talk to them. The interior areas of the main building itself needs some serious work. This could be such a lovely hotel! Everything is so old and outdated, and the carpeting is just disgusting. Our room was a comfortable size, with a balcony just steps away from the water. The bedding was OK, usual hotel offerings (which is WAY too soft for me, but maybe others like that). Hairdryer worked fine; only one super-large towel which was weird, but plenty of other sizes of towels, so we were fine. OMG the toiletries! Great selection and smell sooooo good! The charcoal bath bar is probably worth the room rate alone. Would've stayed here again on our return trip, but it was a Saturday and they required a 2-night minimum stay.

Like being on a ship on the water
We stayed here 2 nights on a road trip and sightseeing adventure, and loved it. We had a 2nd floor room overlooking the water, and it was like being on a boat (without the movement). I lounged in the chair and watched the ducks and seals swim around while the sun set. It was the most relaxed I've been in ages. The room was large and comfortable, and the sheets felt unusually soft and good. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, we were thrilled with the place.

Older property, great view
Loved the view, the bed was comfortable and the room was large and clean, but in need of some repair. The weather was horrible, but we had a great time watching the sea otters (?) and water fowl from our room and dining in the wonderful local restaurants.
