Not even close to worth the price!
Was late in booking for Virginia Tech's graduation - i.e. I only booked 5 months in advance - and I went with this hotel because it was all I could find. Had a problem the minute I arrived. It was 3:25 pm and my reservation was for a 3:00 pm check-in. Was told no rooms were ready because check-in is at 4:00 pm. I showed them my reservation and they said that was a Hotels.com problem, not theirs. The next day we were out and about from 10 am until 5 pm. Returned to find that our room had not been cleaned, towels not replaced etc. Was told "so sorry", but they couldn't do anything about it, because staff had left for the day. After arguing with the useless desk clerk, an older employee emerged from the office and said she's take care of it. I was grateful to her, but it was after 6 pm by the time she was done. So twice I arrived exhausted and had to wait an hour for my room. Overall, this is a very low quality property. Older, not well kept up. Dark and a bit dingy. Pool broken. Breakfast the absolute minimum. Room reasonably clean. Nothing very near-by. And now for the kicker - I paid $350/night plus tax for one room, two guests. ~$775 total. They could charge this because of the aforementioned space crunch caused by the VT graduation. So, add price gouging to the list. If you must, it's better than sleeping in your car. Otherwise, avoid this property.

Be More Empathetic
The front desk staff was nice except for the man on Friday night. Even though we were paying 3 times the normal rate he was unwilling to discuss late check out options. Turns out it didn’t matter. Pool is broken and the air conditioning in our room only worked half the time. Breakfast was ok and the beds were nice. When will hotels stop using the Covid as an excuse to not clean ur room everyday?

Check in was easy. Staff was nice. Bed blankets had clumps of hair on them. Disgusting. The room was definitely old and the walls are thin. We could clearly hear cell phones ringing clearly from our room next door.
