    Noisy on the Mezzanine floor
Great location, close to the beach but noisy from next door hotel and rubbish truck.

    unmet potential
The hotel has a lot of potential but it does not live up to it.

Furthers efforts need to be made
This used to be a Grand hotel once. The new management seems to try to get it back in reasonable shape. Still a lot of effort needs to be made. Some rooms (at least ours) need a serious make over. Some of the lobby staff are somewhat aloof or uninterested. Concierge and cleaning staff seem to be more happy in their jobs. Some of the lobby staff also miss commercial accumen: notwithstanding the average experiençe we wanted to extend for 2 days so as to avoid the drag of moving. However the hotel had just filled up. I was surprised that I was not suggested another Aqua hotel. That would have been the smart thing to do. However this did not hapen. To me it indicated the interest of the Lobby staff in their job and their company. We ended up in the Courtyard Marriott where the lobby staff were much more dynamic.

Nice beach location, but dirty rooms
The hotel location was very good, as it was located approximately 1 block away from the beach front. The hotel personnel (specifically front desk reception and valet parking staff) were very friendly and helpful. My complaint stems from the difference between the advertised hotel room photos vs. the actual hotel room we received (which I believe is Room 612). Contrary to the advertised photos on the website, there were many marked flaws to the hotel room. The room entry door was scratched, dented, and dirty. The carpet was obviously stained and soiled. Additionally, there were water leakage stains in the ceiling of the bathroom. I felt embarrassed booking this room for my family and although I commend the hotel for its location and helpful staff, I do not recommend that anyone stay in this hotel for the rooms.

Nice location but a bit outdated with a small room
This hotel has great location for what we needed. It's just across the road from the beach on one side and from a park and the Honolulu zoo on the other side. The staff was helpful and pleasant. However, it is an old building with small rooms that are barely bigger than two beds. Our room was clean enough but pretty plain.
