Great time at Waikiki Shell
My wife and I stayed there for a Jackson Browne Concert that was just minutes away through a park. It was on the beach next to a Historical Venue opened in 1927 and has been closed since the 1970s', The Waikiki Natatorium War Memorial. It is also just minutes away from Diamond head State Park, the view and historical relevance was very enjoyable. Overall our stay was enjoyable and we may have found a new place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of central Waikiki.

Nice old fashioned hotel
This is an older hotel with character, right on the beach. The room was clean and quiet. Rarely can you sleep well in Honolulu, there was no street noise here. The room was small with no view to speak of. It’s close to The Waikiki shell which is why I chose the location. It’s away from the Waikiki craziness but just a short walk away.

Thumbs up, will repeat if I get the chance
We stayed here on a trip to Honolulu. I would stay here again. Loved the location, next to a large park, ocean behind and a room view of Diamond Head. The room was a little small. I would have liked a little loveseat, but there really was not any room for it. It was a bit older, but kept up well. It had an older Hawaii feel to it, but not a shabby feel. The staff was good to us.

Charming, secluded, with great food.
Staff and food were awesome! The "New" in the hotel name is relative. The hotel was charming, but showing some age, and the room was a bit cozy. The "king size"bed was two concrete twins pushed together with a lump in the middle. Not the best for someone tall. For $180 a night, I thought the $14 daily "Resort Fee" was gouging. Especially since it only covered beach towels and mats. Parking prices were exorbitant, also. $32 daily for a car, and $16 for a scooter! The beach was nice, and it was easy to walk to the main stretch of Waikiki. We enjoyed the seclusion from the main part of Waikiki, and the room was quiet, no neighbor noises or showers, etc.
