Could have been handled better
We arrived at the hotel via taxi (they have no airport shuttle) just in time to see multitudes of people exiting the hotel as fire trucks got setup to put out what turned out to be a fire in the laundry room. We were unable to check in and occupied ourselves for the next 4 hours walking and shopping until we arrived to check back in that evening. We were only staying for a single night, so this cut into our overall stay time significantly. At check in, we mentioned the purpose of our stay in Anchorage (to have a medical procedure done on my mother in law) and requested a late check out to help us manage our schedule the following day. We were bluntly refused, at which point we mentioned the inconvenience the fire had caused and the resulting fatigue of my mother in law since she had been unable to take it easy in the hotel room as planned in preparation for the procedure the following day. At that, the Assistant Manager, who had been checking us in, simply brushed it off and made a joke of the situation. The room itself was pleasant enough, and the tub was very relaxing after the long afternoon of walking. Check out was efficient and expeditious and we encountered no difficulties there. I know there was no way to foresee the fire, but since it did affect the quality and length of our stay so significantly, it would have been nice to have had some consideration and accommodation for our needs as a result of the inconvenience.

why I should spend my time to reconfirm my reservation. they charged me additional parking fee even though my reservation included free parking. when I received my credit billing record, it was terrible to me. I called the hotel account and I heard my confirm number of Expedia by them. and they recommend me to call hotels.com. hotels.com responded kindly but didn't confirm what is status from terrible Hotel Captin Cook.
