With regards to the apartment itself, I was quite satisfied. The apartment felt very secure; this was in part due to the additional locked door which needed accessing prior to actually entering the unit. The interior was comfortable, stylish, and airy because of the many wonderful windows allowing light in. The bathroom was just nicely appointed; the rainfall shower head was a great touch; there was plenty of water pressure with plenty of hot water. There were toiletries and plenty of quality towels on hand. The small refrigerator, kettle, mugs, and tea bags definitely enhanced the accommodations. The only tricky spot I had with staying here was the nightly level of noise, both external and internal. Another reviewer indicated the shutters helped dampen the noise from below; I did not find this to be the case. In spite of the windows having been closed along with the shutters, the street clamor was overwhelming. Ear plugs and white noise were not enough to mask it. Additionally the occupants in the unit directly above were extremely loud and active typically until 3am. Between this and the noise coming from the street, I was unable to sleep well during my time in Lisbon. To summarize: I enjoyed the space; it felt attractive, safe, and comfortable. The location, while convenient and practical in so many ways, proved challenging at night to sleep. I might suggest that night owls would especially appreciate this apartment and the abundant nightlife.
