A really lovely hotel. Reception area is very spacious, the kind of place where it’s lovely to sit. Great bar and a very elegant restaurant with good food and very friendly staff. Rooms were spotless and spacious. You really feel as if you are in a grand hotel but there is no stuffiness with helpful and cheerful staff. You struck a good balance between old world grandeur and contemporary expectations. Stayed on a number of occasions hope to return.

    Great classic hotel, but...
This hotel is a old beauty, everything here is good, but there is a one thing that is really bad-internet is so weak, that 95% guests have 10 times stronger internet in their homes, than in this hotel, even with the upgrade. They need to fix this, I was forced to go in some restaurant across the street to upload 764 MB of video for my TV program, because it was 2 hour long upload when I tried to upload at the hotel. Very polite staff tried to help, to send me to business center, they didn't have SD card reader, so I've gone to small restaurant across the street to upload this. Hotel is good, old classic, we enjoyed our stay in many ways, but there is no need for hotel built in 1930 to have internet from that age, nothing more.

You should stay at the Omni Shoreham
I had a great two night stay at the Omni Shoreham. Front desk manager Omar ensured that all my needs were met, I look forward to returning as a guest soon.

    Mandatory valet and bellhop services
The hotel itself was nice, with a spacious and comfortable room. One of the 2 elevators on our wing was defunct, however, so waiting to go up several floors took forever. When we pulled into the driveway, we were surprised to learn that the only parking options were $52/day valet parking, or $48 for overnight parking in a garage a few blocks away. The valet was snarky and told us sarcastically, "Of course you have to pay for parking. Have you never been to Washington before?" Additionally, they did not let us take our own bags to the room (not that they would fit in the tiny elevator anyway). On the positive side, there was a changing room with a dressing table as well as a very large closet in our room, both of which were appreciated. The room was nice and the hotel was beautiful, as expected from an Omni resort, but I doubt we would stay here again.

    Awesome...with a few cosmetic needs...
My overall experience was amazing. There were just a few little cosmetics that could be adjusted for better quality. I had a suite with a pull out bed. For the price of the room, the mattress on it was very old and worn out, this could be a little better maintained. There were actual holes in the side of the mattress exposing the springs and stuffing. The plaster around the balcony window could be repaired and the latches could be secured a little better. Overall the staff was very friendly and welcoming and my overall stay was great. It was walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops and no more than a 15 minute car ride to night bars and clubs. I would stay definitely book a room again if I'm traveling back to the area.
