Tiny room
Paying extra for king size deluxe room was probably a mistake since the room i was given was tiny amlnd it had a small window facing a brick wall.

"Destination fee"?
The building is grand, the room was clean, and everything worked well except some TV issues, which they promptly fixed. I was feeling great about my stay until I checked out, and found that I owed extra for a "destination fee" (apparently I'm not allowed to say how much in a review). I had been told when I checked in that everything was paid for and the credit card was just for incidentals. This was a lie. Apparently this is a mandatory fee that they charge everyone. In other words, they falsely advertise the room rate until you finish your stay. When I pushed them on it, they were prepared with a printout of Expedia booking terms that shows it in fine print. In turn, I showed them that I booked on Hotels.com, not Expedia, which showed no such fee in the booking. Needless to say, they were unsympathetic. Honestly, I probably would still have booked the room for the extra money, but it was a bad taste in my mouth right as I finished my trip. Part of the blame may rest on Hotels.com for this, too, but either way, this is a disgusting practice that consumers should push back on at every opportunity.

At check in I felt I was at a bank teller . line. No real dialogue or friendliness, just business. This is not reminiscent of other city hotels we have stayed at. getting a good room was another ordeal. Good location to Quincy Market and Beacon Hill. Not sure we will be back to this hotel. They need to step up the level of service first.
