Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites
Was excited, but let down/disappointed overall
The pictures had me excited because I wanted to give my kids that "luxury" hotel feeling. Upon entering, I was a bit disappointed at the wimpy a/c unit, but it mostly did its job. The hotel pool was great and seemed clean. The hot tub was hot (great for most as I'm sure families aren't the desired guest type, too hot for us). --Only 1 stall so it was awkward to be in there with another guest changing/taking a shower. --I was laying in bed after a long day of travel and saw something moving out of the corner of my eye. I flung it off the bed and later realized it was a roach. I couldn't find it again to kill it. :( I didn't complain because I didn't want to move rooms, the rest of the hotel was nice, these things happen. --Tried to use WiFi, it didn't work in our room unless you stood right near the door, nor in the workout room, nor in the pool. They sent maintenance, but nothing was done to fix/accomodate. --The elevators are being renovated. That meant waiting a long time to haul my 50lb bag up to the second floor. While waiting to go down, the elevator was full and a guest remarked that I should just walk down the stairs (not the hotels fault, but added fuel to the fire). --The room was overlooking the parking roundabout, so there was a fair amount of traffic noise. --Also, there was no space in the tiny roundabout/guest parking area. So we paid for street parking and lugged everything up. --Complained to front desk at departure, got a "sorry".

Pleasant stay
Enjoyed our stay. Room was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. We used the pool and had good meals in both restaurants. Location was convenient for access to Beacon Hill Park and shopping. Trips in the elevator were always interesting because the central one was being replaced and there were lots of guests.

Nice hotel, great location
This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to lots of things to see and do in Victoria. The room was nice and clean, lobby was beautiful and the hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. They are updating the elevators so there was only 1 working and for a hotel that size it took forever to get one but will be much better once that is done. The pool was really cold, quite uncomfortable but the hot tub was nice. Parking lot was small and hard to maneuver. We drive a minivan and found it very difficult to park. Thankfully we parked when we first got there and walked everywhere. Would stay here again the next time we are in Victoria.
