First time in Chicago
It was my first time in Chicago and by chance I finally chose this hotel as my base in Chicago. The area was a very pleasant surprise: jogging by the lake was wonderful and really close, shopping opportunities were really good, busses and metro close, clean and safe. The hotel itself is very close to what you see in the pictures. The room was big, the bed comfortable, good A/C (though noisy), TV and the channels and streaming services were good, wi-fi connection very good (I got the premium connection) and every time an issue occurred the hotel staff handled them quickly and professionally. I´d recommend this hotel!

Really nice hotel, very comfortable beds. Super location. Just be warned, they deduct $75 per night security deposit from your credit card and return it when you check out, so make sure you've enough funds.

Amazing hotel but does have some problems
Hotel was very nice. Our room was nice and big. The location was amazing ( the best part to the hotel), close to many landmarks, buses and the subway station. although there were some problems - heating- or lack of, it was -13 degrees Celsius and the heating wouldn't go any higher than 17 degrees. As well as not working that well the heating was extremely loud.. to the point where it caused a lack of sleep - the security deposit of 75 dollars a day. This is a lot to ask for from your guests, for 5 nights we paid 375 dollars ( which is more than the hotel cost us) which was a massive chunk of our spending money and when asked could we get the money refunded daily we were told no only upon check out, which we are still waiting to receive. We suggest that there be a cap of 200-300 dollars for your stay.

Great location. However disappointed with the room. Booked a Queen bed but got a standard bed.

Hotel needs some updating, especially meeting room AV facilities. Otherwise a great location and staff were very pleasant.

Old school charm in a New School world
The location for tourism and shopping is unbeatable. The bathrooms are something from a old school Greek palace with all the marble touches! The first floor Speakeasy restaurant / Lounge takes you back to the days of Al Capone and makes you whisper about how much you love the place !!!!!!

Dusty, Dated + Dirty
On what planet is this a 4-star hotel?? The elevator NOT clean, the halls were dark and dingy, and, worst of all the room. UGH. In the time of Covid, you'd expect cleanliness as a priority - we had dirty mint wrappers and an old exhibitors badge from a previous person on the floor which had not been vacuumed. Finger prints all over the cabinet...just gross. I put my socks back on when I went to the bathroom at night! I was going to say something to the front desk but the woman at reception was just plain angry - my complaint would have gone nowhere. Yes, this property is in a fantastic place...walk an extra few blocks and stay someplace else.

Everything was amazing. We just didn’t get any room service so that wasn’t the best but I’d definitely give it a 9/10 otherwise. Beautiful hotel

Location Does Not Mean Everything
The room wasn't totally clean. There were toenail clippings, hair and hair pins in the room. Toilet paper roll and the wall attachment was not secure and was about to fall off onto the floor. Needless to say, we had to be very careful when using the restroom. There was mildew in the corner of the shower on the floating shelf. I do believe that the state of the US has an impact on the friendliness and courtesy of the staff and front desk. For the price of the stay, it was not worth it.
