A really cool hotel in Cape Town city centre
Love this hotel. It's like being on a film set with great decor and atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and super-helpful. Breakfast is great and I recommend the avo, poached eggs, bacon and sourdough toast. Delicious. We also had dinner in the hotel one night which was very good. I would say, be aware that this is in the city centre of cape Town. Brilliant during the day as you can walk everywhere from here but better to Uber at night. The doormen, especially Erin were great at helping us to feel totally secure.

Focus on “design”, at loss of functionality
Very central, yet difficult to access. As doors open from a pedestrian road, one has to drive into the pedestrian road to access parking. Finding this out the first time is not easy, and later on not practical. Staff is welcoming, attentive and friendly. Cleanliness is spotless. Duvets and pillows, however, are very low quality, not in line with a supposed 5*hotel, rather a hospital, their filling is plasticky and their case is paper, resulting in very u comfortable sweaty sleep in the absence of perspiration. Alternative could not be provided at request. Restaurant upstairs has the athmosphere of ruin bars, and air temperature is very cold. Even staff wears coats which comes across very unprofessional. Breakfast, Food is just OK. Drinks below acceptable standard.

NOT a 5 star hotel!
We chose this hotel because it had a 5 star rating and it offered a suite with two king beds and 1 queen bed—perfect for our family, so it was worth the splurge. We booked it, and then it turned out that neither was accurate. The advertised room didn’t even exist! We arrived late, tired and hungry, and too late to find another hotel, so the only way to get a 2nd king bed was to pay for a 2nd room, making the cost even higher. Totally unfair and unprofessional. The hotel staff handled it very poorly—they made us wait forever while they tried to find a manager or anyone who would know how to handle the situation. They had no idea what they were doing. When they finally gave us an additional price to pay (and even wrote it in their notes!), the next day, they ended up charging us an even higher amount! This was not anything like a 5 star hotel! They also had no concierge or other amenities to make the hotel in keeping with such a rating.

This was a very unique hotel! I loved the pizazz of the decor. The staff was very friendly upon arrival. We enjoyed the mini bar in our room filled with local alcohol and snacks and the restaurant made it really convenient for us.
