    Inokashira Park often comes to mind for locals who are planning on a date in Kichijoji. This green area is full of charming coffee shops. Why not get up a little early to enjoy a breakfast special at a coffee shop and then enjoy a walk in the park? Of course, many cafes and restaurants serve delicious lunches too. 

    A popular choice is to take a boat on Inokashira Pond, especially in March or April when the 200 cherry trees around the pond are in full bloom.     Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa is an indoor aquarium within Shinagawa Prince Hotel. It’s gaining popularity not only for families but also for couples as an urban theme park that combines sound, light and sea creatures. The dolphin show is a must-see.

Konica Minolta Planetarium Manten, on the roof of Ikebukuro Sunshine City, has a variety of programs such as fantastic digital art and programs in collaboration with musicians.     In addition to general seats, there are 3 lawn seats and 5 cloud seats for up to 2 people each. These seats get taken very quickly, so it’s best to book ahead.

    Tokyo Tower

    The 333-metre-high Tokyo Tower with its impressive contrast of vivid red and white is one of Tokyo’s most famous sightseeing spots.
