Lovely stay.

Lovely pub with rooms, fairly local for park & ride into the city, ate in the bar & the food was great. Charlotte & Hannah the girls on duty during our stay were a great asset to the company.

Fabulous accomodation, service and food

Lovely queen bed, clean, hot powerful shower, large room with tv, fabulous cooked breakfast included in very reasonable room price. Excellent food menu and large portions at fair prices. We will stay again when visiting Durham. We tried to go back for sunday lunch after our checkout but the car park was completely full reflecting how popular the three horseshoes is. A very enjoyable 2 night stay and there was a lot more on the menu we would have liked to have tried. Next time!

The staff were friendly and efficient. The English breakfast was fab( and kept me going all day). The surrounding countryside is a bonus. It was a lovely break fot my wife and me, and we will probably return as the food looked fantastic.

Friendly staff and very good breakfast included. Convenient location for lots of things nearby but location of hotel is by itself in the countryside so not within walking distance of anything. I would recommend as it was good value for money

Staff gave us a lovely welcome and sorted out a minor check-in problem immediately. Our room was super with comfy beds. We had an excellent dinner and an equally good breakfast. We are looking for an excuse to return!

Lovely hotel very happy

Very nice hotel. Views over the fields at the back with the cows so close you could touch them, was lovely. Wvn though my room faced onto the main road. The views on that side where also nice with very little noise from the road.

Excellent countryside pub

This is an isolated pub on a busy road, with great views of the countryside. The bedrooms have been recently modernised and decorated. Bedroom was large enough and rthe bed comfortable if a little firm. Large en suite with walk-in shower was well decorated, though the rainfall shower could do with more water pressure. The staff were very friendly and the evening meal was excellent with very large portions. Buffet breakfast was OK, the sourdough toast being the highlight. Would definitely stay here again.

4/10 Fair

Horrible WiFi service

Room was clean, but small and a bit cramped. Nice having the on-site restaurant. I would have given this hotel a fairly good review if it were not for the fact that their WiFi was terrible. It kept dropping and I would need to reconnect every five minutes. Sometimes I would need to exit my room and go into the hallway for a connection. There's no excuse for bad WiFi in 2022!

Best Choice for a Durham Visit

This was my second stay at Three Horseshoes and my first with my husband. While the room was not quite to the level of my first stay, it was still outstanding and my husband agreed it was our best choice for future visits to Durham. The rooms are clean, tastefully furnished, spacious and comfortable and have every amenity. Both rooms had a window view worthy of a postcard!! Free on-site parking was great. The included breakfast is outstanding! It is a proper menu item choice and the full English ordered by my son and husband was enormous and delicious. While I missed breakfast on this trip (they were happy to provide toast and coffee for my husband to bring to our room), the salmon and eggs from my first visit still ranks as one of the best I’ve had! Only a couple of small issues marred this visit. Unlike my first room, this room was over the restaurant/bar area. Although this is a low-key establishment (not a rowdy student bar), there was still enough noise from below to make an early bedtime difficult, if one is a light sleeper. I will remember to request a room further away in the future. There was also something wrong with the taps on the shower. Both seemed to do nothing for several full, 360 degree rotations, and one lost a piece in the process!?! We were eventually able to achieve water flow at a fixed temperature, but still not sure how… They are, however, huge rain shower heads and very clean facilities, so hard to complain. Overall, highly recommended!!

This was our second stay and it didn’t disappoint. The friendly yet professional staff, the cleanliness of the place, the excellent dinner and breakfast all contributed to a lovely stay. It also helped that the parking was so convenient.

Perfect stay

Our third stay at the Three Horseshoes. We love this place, everything is perfect; rooms, food (amazing menu) and fabulous staff. So friendly. We would not stay anywhere else while visiting family locally.

8/10 Very good

Food great. Stairs may be difficult for some. Lovely views across countryside from room Nowhere to walk from hotel as on a main road with no pavements. Lovely staff .Would definitely book again.
Diane, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff very friendly & welcoming. Lovely room with lovely views. Noise from fan on roof was a bit annoying as needed to keep windows open as it was very warm The greenish cushion covers on bed could do with a freshen up as the body odour from a male was quite obvious. The food was very good but portions are massive. Might be an option to offer a smaller portion. Apart from these small issues it was a good place to stay.

It’s a lovely place with nice comfortable rooms, good service and excellent food. Also next to a field of curious cows… very sweet! A great stop over on the way north.
