Things to see

The domed Thompson Arena hosts ice hockey games for Dartmouth College’s men’s and women’s ice hockey teams. On game night, the stands are full of cheering fans from the college as well as locals who want to support the team. You’ll also see college teams at the Leede Arena, including the Big Green basketball team, as well as the occasional boxing or fencing match. Dartmouth College is worth a visit to see the range of historic buildings spread around the leafy campus, and this prestigious Ivy League college has a pleasant mixture of traditional and modern architecture. One of the newer buildings houses the Hood Museum of Art, an impressive gallery with plenty of well-lit space to display stylish contemporary art, works from around the world, and pieces created by the talented students of Dartmouth. There are also visiting exhibitions throughout the year, including work from internationally renowned artists.
