"Nice hotel with good beach access"

The doubletree in surin is a nice hotel and good value for money. It has direct 40 metre access to the beach and it very close to the catch beach club which is good at night. The rooms were good, breakfast ok,service was friendly. This is reasonable hotel for a reasonable price nothing more nothing less. The room service food quality was excellent value for the price. If I went to Phuket and wanted to stay in surin I would probably stay there again.
"A Large Resort enjoying an exotic location"

An ideally located large resort that with many plus points specially for families. However, being an old resort (formerly Sheraton), rooms do need renovation. The plus points includes, execllent breakfast, good outdoors, nice beach etc. For cons, no DVD's in rooms, some furniture needs replacement and the staff needs to improve their ability to communicate in english.
"Best Western Bangtoa Beach Resort & Spa"

The hotel has one of the better locations for having access to the beach right there at the hotel and two large well kept pools. It is necessary to take a shuttle or taxi to other towns - Patong, Kata, Karon, and there are several sightseeing tours available. The water quality is not as good as beaches further south, but it was still pretty good. Staff at desk struggled with English, but overall they were helpful. Would recommend the hotel for a 4-5 day stay and would suggest if you've never been to Thailand to book some time on another part of the coast - just to see what else there is - Phi Phi island is availble by tour but you are farther away from it at this location than say, Krabi. There are several good places to eat along the road the hotel is on but the biggest venue of shops and restaurants is in Patong Beach - which is very crowded and very touristy. Wi - Fi is available in hotel room but is expensive and not secure. The would do well to provide cable connection to guests.
